Essex Counselling at Home Organisation (ECHO), a not-for-profit organisation, started in January 2012.  ECHO specialises in visiting clients in their own homes to provide individual or couple counselling to anyone over the age of 50.

About ECHO

All ECHO counsellors are volunteers, members of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and have completed the necessary training courses. They have regular supervision and undertake Continuous Professional Development. All counsellors working with ECHO have an enhanced DBS check (Disclosure and Barring Service).

At present, the service offers counselling to clients within a 15-mile radius (approximately) of Braintree, Brentwood, Chelmsford and Rayleigh. However, if you are outside these areas it is always worth getting in touch to see if we are able to help you. You can self-refer or be referred to us by someone else.

As the service is not for profit, we strive to keep charges at an affordable level. The cost to the client is negotiated on an individual basis at the time of the assessment and fear of the cost should not stop anyone contacting the service for help. Money raised is used within the organisation to cover training, supervision, travel expenses and other relevant overheads.
